The Alliance Française d’Austin’s Bastille Day Celebration, one of Austin’s most exciting summer events, is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Historic French Legation.
Live music, dancing, delicious French food & wine, and a display of antique French automobiles will be part of the fun to commemorate the 219th anniversary of the French Revolution.
This special event will include two courts for playing the lawn game of Pétanque (a French national pastime), as well as a silent auction benefiting the French Legation Museum (Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Custodians).
Throughout the evening, French delicacies, desserts, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Once again, entertainment will be provided by Austin’s own Olivier Giraud and his ensemble, (formerly Paris 49) one of Austin’s “Top Ten” Jazz Bands.
