Receiving a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is never easy. A
wide array of questions and concerns come to mind as one prepares for a
future with AD.
The Early Stage AD Educational Forum has been designed by the
Alzheimer's Association to speak to these concerns through a panel
discussion by credentialed, professional representatives.
Early stage refers to people, irrespective of age, who are diagnosed
with AD or related disorders and are in the beginning stage of the
disease.
Information topics covered include Diagnosis/Misdiagnosis, Coping
strategies, Treatment and medication, Legal Issues, Stigma, Clinical
Trials, and Long-term planning.
A total of 6 Early Stage Educational Forums will be held by the
Alzheimer's Association-Capital of Texas Chapter from May-November 2008.
