The National Foster Parent Association, Texas Foster Family Association and the Texas Association of Child Placing Agencies are planning Walk Me Home...to the place I belong, 5K run/walk.
This is a fundraiser to raise awareness about foster care issues in order to promote fostering and raise funds for state and local organizations, as well as the National Foster Parent Association. This will be the first annual nation wide fundraiser for foster care. Austin and other surrounding areas are holding their 5K in Georgetown, Texas at San Gabriel Park.
We will have families that have fostered, are current foster parents, and perhaps even foster kids at the event and we hope their voices can be heard.
